Partnering to promote careers in STEM

Share this with others:

Our Australian Steel Products business has entered into a new partnership with the NSW Department of Education to establish a STEM academy in the Illawarra, home to the Port Kembla Steelworks.  The Department’s STEM Industry School Partnership (SISP) Program aims to give students practical and real-world insights into the application of their classroom experiences.

The Illawarra Academy of STEM Excellence will be based at three local hub high schools.  STEM teachers from the schools have visited the Steelworks to see some of our advanced manufacturing processes and learn about STEM career opportunities at BlueScope.

This video on STEM careers will be part of STEM 2021, a unique, online, on-demand event bringing Australian educators and STEM professionals TED-style talks from world-renowned experts on creativity, innovation and STEM.  The video will also be available to all NSW government schools to give students a taste of what a STEM career can offer.
